It is not possible to turn South onto the A6 motorway from the A40, so leave the motorway at exit 1 [1 on map], marked LYON / MOULINS and MÂCON. There is a signpost just before the exit which says TAIZÉ suivre (=follow) MOULINS. After the toll barrier keep to the right hand lane marked LYON / MOULINS péage (toll). Do NOT take the left lane marked MÂCON (If you do, you will have to go through the town.). Follow the N6 for 3km, when you will pick up the blue motorway signs for TOURNUS / PARIS and LYON / MOULINS.
Follow LYON / MOULINS A6 to get onto the motorway A6 [2 on map]. Once on it, travel south for 10km / 6.5 miles.
Leave the motorway at exit 29 - MÂCON-SUD with signs to MOULINS / CLUNY / CHAROLLES [3 on map]. 300 metres after the toll barrier follow the sign at the roundabout for MONTCEAU / MOULINS / NEVERS followed straightaway by signs for CLUNY and TAIZÉ on the N79.
Keep on the N79 for 17 km / 10.5 miles and soon after passing under the TGV railway bridge, take the D980 exit [4] to CLUNY.
Remain on this road for 5 km / 3 miles, until leaving Cluny. Then turn right at the roundabout [5] onto the D981 in the direction of TAIZÉ / CORMATIN / BUXY for a distance of 8km / 5 miles.
Turn left to TAIZÉ [6] and follow the signs "COMMUNAUTÉ" At the top of the hill you can park your car in the car park on the left.
