Christ Jesus, you send us into the world to contribute to the spreading of your peace. But when we are faced with evil and catastrophes of all sorts, the question can arise in us: Where are you? Why do you leave us on our own? So give us, as you gave to the apostles, the confidence that you always come to be with us. By your word and your Eucharist, by the Holy Spirit, you are with us. In this confidence, we pray especially today for the people of Lebanon. God of all human beings, give strength and courage to the people who are in sorrow, and sustain those who are doing all they can to begin rebuilding that beloved country.
