Young Adult Meetings 2011

Who can come and when?

17 to 29 year olds

throughout the year, from Sunday to Sunday! [*]

Under 18s should bring written parental authorisation.

If you want to bring a group of young adults see the page Further information: Bringing a group of young people to Taizé.

15 and 16 year olds

throughout the year, from Sunday to Sunday [*], as long as the nature of the meetings has been well explained to them. If you come outside school holidays, check with us if there are other 15-16 year olds coming that week. A free choice for this age-group is essential – we cannot welcome groups who have to come as part of a compulsory programme. Sufficient leaders over 20 years old should be included in the group.

If you wish to bring a group of young adults see the page Further information: Bringing a group of young people to Taizé.

over 30’s

From Sunday to Sunday [*] between March 25 and October 28 in 2012. Adults over 30 can come only once a year for a maximum of one week and should come from Sunday to Sunday, or else for a weekend.

See the page Further information: adults aged 30 and over for details about what is organised for the over 30’s.

Parents with children

From Sunday to Sunday [*] for the following weeks in 2012: April 1 - April 9 (Monday), April 9 (Monday) - April 15, May 28 (Monday) - June 3 or between June 24 and September 2.

Children are welcome in Taizé, but families should come in a week when there are activities organised for them.

See the page Further information: families for details.

Can I come just for a few days?

If you cannot manage to come from Sunday to Sunday, try and come from Thursday or Friday until Sunday. It takes time to get into the rhythm of the meetings.

Please make sure you read all the information pages about the meetings before registering!

[*] The meetings follow a weekly Sunday to Sunday rhythm except for:

Holy Week: you can stay through until Easter Monday (April 9) if you wish.

Easter Week: please arrive on Easter Monday (April 9) rather than Easter Sunday. Stay through to the following Sunday (April 15).

Pentecost (Whitsun): leave and arrive on Whit Monday (May 28) not the Sunday.

On account of the annual European Meeting, we do not receive people at Taizé between 25 December and 6 January.
