The meetings receive no external subsidy, but depend on participants’ contributions and on contributions made by those who are able to do so to a solidarity fund.
What you give for your stay covers meals, accommodation and other expenses of the meetings. The suggested level of contribution takes into account participants’ country of origin. Within the range given, each person chooses what contribution to make.
If you need a receipt, please ask for one when you give your contribution. We cannot give receipts once you’ve left Taizé!

How should we give our contribution towards the costs?
Whilst cash payments are possible, if you are bringing a group try as far as possible to to limit them
You can give your contribution on arrival by credit card (Visa, Eurocard, Mastercard, Maestro). When bringing a group, please check beforehand with your bank that you are able to use your card for such a sum.
You may also make a bank transfer before coming (barring real exceptions, it is neither necessary nor desirable to send us sums of less than 150 euros in advance), use cheques payable in France, or travellers’ cheques.
Please note that for all other kinds of cheque it is better to check beforehand that they are in fact acceptable in Taizé.
If you are bringing a group of young adults, please give the contribution for the whole group when that is possible, whichever means of payment you are using. Asking group members to make their contribution individually will mean waiting for longer when you arrive!
For further details, if you want to make a bank transfer before coming or if you have questions about any of the above mentioned means of payment, please contact the welcome team. Put "costs of stay" in the subject box of your email.
