Travel to Taizé individually

There are a number of different ways to reach Taizé individually or at times when the regular coach services are not running.

Outside the summer period, when the direct coach service is not running, probably the simplest and relatively inexpensive London to Taizé journey is to travel to Paris-Bercy (or to Lyon) by OUIBUS [http://uk.ouibus.com/] and then on by train to Mâcon (or another OUIBUS to Chalon-sur-Saône). Slow (and inexpensive) trains run to Mâcon-Ville from Paris-Bercy Station. From Mâcon-Ville there is a direct bus, costing only €1.50 to Taizé.
Notes:
- Paris-Bercy is within easy walking distance of Paris-Gare de Lyon, so it is also possible to continue your journey by high-speed train (TGV): see trains page.
- There are other London-Paris bus routes, such as Megabus [http://uk.megabus.com], Eurolines [http://www.eurolines.co.uk/], etc. which can sometimes be cheaper, however the drop off points in Paris are not so convenient for the onward journey to Taizé.
- At certain times of year Eurolines [http://www.eurolines.co.uk] run coaches to Chalon-sur-Saône, from where a direct bus connects to Taizé. The arrival time in Chalon is usually not very convenient.
