An action of solidarity in North Korea

For 18 years, through Operation Hope, the Taizé community has brought humanitarian help to North Korea, especially with medical supplies and for children.

A few weeks ago, four Chinese lorries crossed the North Korean frontier to deliver 200 tons of cement to build a school. Ten Korean lorries which were waiting in the frontier town then continued the journey to the school, 300 km further south. In this time of tension and military and diplomatic confrontation on the Korean peninsula, this gesture of solidarity expresses our hope for peace and reconciliation.
