2019 Pilgrimage in Aotearoa

Following several invitations, a brother of Taizé will be on pilgrimage in Aotearoa-New Zealand in November 2019.

Friday 15 November to Sunday 17 November

30 years ago Sisters of Compassion from Wellington first visited Taizé. Since then, they have held regular prayers with songs of Taizé. In link with this anniversary, the Sisters have invited a brother to come to the Home of Compassion at Island Bay to lead a retreat.

- Retreat beginning on Friday 15 November evening and continuing through to Sunday 17 November 6pm. Prayer with songs from Taizé, Bible study and workshops on the theme of "Let us not forget hospitality!" (Brother Alois’ proposals for 2019).

Sunday 17 November - evening

St Peter’s Anglican Church, 211 Willis Street, in Te Aro, Wellington
- At 5pm there will be an opportunity for any musicians who wish to participate, to run through music for the 7pm prayer service.
- At 6pm all are welcome for soup and savouries,
followed by viewing of a short film about Taizé and share in conversation.
- At 7pm the service of prayers, and music and silence will begin.

Please RSVP to office nmA stpetersonwillis for catering purposes, and for musicians to inform us which instrumental part you will need.


Tuesday 19 November

- Evening prayer: Holy Trinity Cathedral (Anglican), 446 Parnell Road, Parnell, Auckland 1052, at 7.00 pm, followed by Bible study, reflection and sharing on the theme "Let us not forget hospitality" (Proposals 2019).
