TAIZÉ

Taizé in Brussels

New paths of trust

During the Palm Sunday weekend a Taizé meeting will be held in Brussels. At the invitation of Cardinal de Kesel, Archbishop of Malines-Bruxelles, brothers from Taizé and young people from Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Germany and Luxembourg will meet for a weekend of meeting and prayer. Brother Alois will be there on Saturday evening.

On the site dedicated to the event we read:

Along with the ecumenical community of Taizé, the Flemish and Francophone Catholic youth ministry prepare this encounter in cooperation with the Protestant community. (…) Young people can participate from Friday 7 April in the evening or from Saturday 8 April in the morning. A brother of Taizé will give a biblical meditation on Saturday morning followed by sharing in small groups. In the afternoon, interesting workshops will be organized at various locations in Brussels.

On Saturday evening there will be a prayer vigil with candles at the Basilica of Koekelberg. The young people will then return to the parishes to stay with host families. The Liturgy of Palm Sunday will be celebrated on Sunday morning again in the Basilica. The celebrations are open to all but participation for the entire weekend is reserved for young people between 15 and 35 years.

It is possible to register online on the site of the youth ministry.
