Christ Jesus, on the cross, looking on the people who persecuted you, you prayed to God: "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." You uncover for us the wellspring of forgiveness. When we find it hard to forgive others or even to bear with them, by your Holy Spirit turn our eyes towards you. Then you will give us the patience and the discernment necessary to journey towards forgiveness, to live in justice.
