Which Prayers Are Open to the Public ?

 

In collaboration with the Churches of the Holy Land and the Ecumenical Institute of Tantur, the Taizé Community is preparing a gathering of young adults that will take place in the Holy Land from 8th to 15th May 2022.

Three hundred young adults, between the ages of 18 and 35, from Europe and other continents will be participating. They will be joined by young adults from the Holy Land who are expected to come in greater numbers from 12th to 15th May. “Journeying Together to Sources of Hope” is the theme that has been chosen for this week of prayer, reflection, and sharing.

A number of prayers are open to the public without registration. They are the following:

Monday, 9th May, 7 pm, Prayer in the Greek Catholic Melkite Cathedral, Jaffa Gate, Old City, Jerusalem.

Tuesday, May 10th,12.15 pm, Prayer at Saint Stephen’s Basilica, Ecole Biblique, Nablus Road.

Tuesday, May 10th, 7pm, Prayer in the Terra Sancta Gym, Bethlehem

Wednesday, May 11th, 12.15 pm, Prayer in the Terra Sancta Gym, Bethlehem

Wednesday, May 11th, 7 pm, Prayer in the Terra Sancta Gym, Bethlehem

Thursday, May 12th, 12:15pm, Prayer in Church of the Redeemer (Lutheran), Muristan Rd., near Holy Sepulchre

Thursday, May 12th, 7 pm, Prayer in the Church of all Nations in Gethsemane followed by a prayer walk to St. Peter in Gallicantu (Jerusalem)

Saturday, May 14th, 12.30 pm, Prayer in the Basilica of the Annunciation (Upper Level), Nazareth.

On May 9th, 10th, and 12th at 8.30 am, morning prayers will take place simultaneously in several churches of Bethlehem, Beit Jala and Beit Sahour. These prayers are also open to the public. More precise information will be provided later on this website and, in Arabic, at this site.
