Film

One Week in July

Full version (23 mins.)

Shortened version (14 mins)

“This film is awesome!” — Maggie Atkinson, outgoing Children’s Commissioner for England

In July 2014, eight 16-18 year-olds from four UK schools recorded their week in Taizé. They filmed video diaries, interviews, and their experiences of meeting new people, working together, and the prayer and silence that punctuate the days. Framed by interviews with the young people before and after the trip, and devoid of religious language, this 20-minute film offers a direct insight into the impact of the experience on them.
