Meetings in Taizé 2021

Dates 2021

Please carefully check the dates of the meeting in which you wish to participate and take them into consideration before registering.

Some of these dates may need to be changed according to the context of the pandemic.

Please check carefully the dates corresponding to the meetings you wish to attend and take them into account before registering.

Obviously, these details may change if the context of the pandemic makes adjustments necessary.

Youth meetings

- young people aged 18 to 29: One week this year, 22 -29 August, is reserved specially for 18-35 year-olds. Otherwise, come any week of the year between 3 January and 24 December.

- young people from 15 to 17: every week between 3 January and 19 December..

The meetings always run from Sunday to Sunday. Young adults can also arrive on Saturday evenings if they are staying for the following week. In this case, they will be asked to help welcome those who arrive the following day.

(A weekend stay from Thursday or Friday until Sunday is also possible, but it really is better to stay the full week. A stay from Saturday morning to Sunday is too short to enter into the rhythm of life in Taizé.)

Exceptions to the “Sunday rule” are the weeks each side of Easter, when Easter Monday serves as departure and arrival day.

In 2021, this means:
- Holy Week: Sunday 28/03 - Monday 05/04
- Easter Week: Monday 05/04 - Sunday 11/04

Meetings for adults

In 2021, we will welcome adults over 30 years-old from Sunday 03/01 to Sunday 24/10.

From Sunday 7/11 to Sunday 19/12, adults over 30 are also welcome. If few people are present, adults attend the Bible group with the young people, but will form sharing groups among themselves.

Meetings for adults always run from Sunday through to the following Sunday.

Please make sure you read carefully all the information in Meetings for adults over 30 before making further plans.

Adults wanting to spend the week in silence, should please read the page A week in silence before deciding when to come.

Meetings for families with children

In 2021, family meetings are open to parents with children under 15 years old. Due to the pandemic and health restrictions, capacity is limited to about one third of the usual number of families. The programme will be modified accordingly. Registration will be possible from 24/5. The meetings will take place during the following weeks:

- Sunday to Sunday: 04/07 to 29/08

From 3/5 to 4/7, and from 29/8 to 24/10, we will be able to welcome a limited number of families for half a week. These families will participate in the programme with the adults. We recommend coming for three nights from Sunday to Wednesday or Thursday to Sunday. You can contact us six to three weeks in advance to find out if a stay is possible.

Please read carefully the usual information in the article Rencontres pour les familles before planning your stay, bearing in mind that circumstances will be different due to the pandemic.
