Short meditation of the day
19 November 2018
“Christ Jesus, light of my heart, do not let my darkness speak to me.” (6) In writing that prayer, Saint Augustine had this intuition: When our inner darkness attracts all our attention, we begin to converse incessantly not with the Risen Christ, but with what hurts us in ourselves. Where can that lead? Nowhere at all.
