Through the Virgin Mary, the mystery of offering is revealed. A Puerto Rican woman understood this when she wrote the following words to her son as he was committing himself by a yes for his entire lifetime: “When I discovered your total love for God, I thought of the Virgin Mary. As a mother, she consented to what God had prepared. My son, what can I do when God is acting? I cannot refuse to give God what belongs to Him. You are all that I have but, because of the love God has for us, we give him everything.”
