1 meeting - 6 topics
During the European Meeting, on 29 and 30 December, participants will be able to choose a thematic block—a 'city'—for each day, rather than attending just a single workshop. Each block will feature a talk, practical workshops, round tables, and Q&A sessions. Participants will follow a set sequence from one session to the next, allowing them to experience everything the block has to offer. Between sessions, coffee and tea will be available in a 'chill' zone—a space to rest and share the evening picnic. These themes have been chosen to reflect both a spirit of diversity and the unique identity of Łódź.
city of the Word
The Ecumenical Biblical School, religious communities of women and men, biblical YouTube channels, lay groups of Scripture enthusiasts, Christian online creators, and as many as four different seminaries—these are only a small part of the vast community of people in Łódź who live from the Word on a daily basis. Allow yourself to be invited into a world open to everyone, filled with inspiring talks, creative workshops, sharing groups, and reflections led by both young and experienced biblical scholars.
city of dialogue
Openness and dialogue lie at the very foundation of Łódź. For generations, Jews, Orthodox Christians, Protestants, and Catholics living side by side have been building unity in diversity. Take part in this thematic block to explore various forms of dialogue—or the lack of it—in today’s world, including dialogue with oneself.
city of women
For 200 years, the development of Łódź was driven by women who worked tirelessly in textile factories and, during the difficult years of communism, had the courage to fight independently for their rights. Women built Łódź and continue to take responsibility for key social and political matters to this day. Through a series of meetings and workshops, discover the past, present, and future of women who take matters into their own hands.
city of technology
The last decade has transformed technology more profoundly than the previous half-century, and everything indicates that the next five years will bring even more rapid development. As Pope Francis once said, “We are not living in an era of change, but in a change of era.” Join the conversation dedicated to artificial intelligence, social media, biotechnology, space exploration, neurobiology, and their real impact on our lives.
city of culture
For years referred to as “HollyŁódź” and holding the title of a UNESCO City of Film, the city is an undeniable center of Polish cinematography. Thanks to its heritage in textiles and the arts, it has also become a capital of fashion. Shaped by four cultures—Catholic, Protestant, Orthodox, and Jewish—it has provided space for the development of many writers, pianists, composers, and poets. Discover the culture of Łódź up close.
city of the Spirit
“Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit” (1 Cor 12:4). For many years, numerous denominational, charismatic, ecumenical, and traditional communities have together shaped the face of the Church in Łódź. Take part in a service of worship, discover the charisms of various communities, learn about the Tridentine liturgy—all during meetings and workshops that unite rather than divide.
