Solidarity collection for Ukraine

Taizé

In view of the worsening war against Ukraine and its consequences for the civilian population as winter approaches, Taizé is launching a new solidarity collection, in which the “Communauté de Communes du Clunisois” (the local authority of the area around Taizé) is also taking part. The aim is to deliver the donations collected by the end of the year, in cooperation with the association “Les Convois Solidaires” (“Solidarity Convoys”) of the city of Besançon.

List of items collected

For practical reasons, the collection covers only four types of items:

• Medical supplies: first aid (bandages, compresses, dressings, disinfectant), mobility aids (wheelchairs, crutches, walkers), other medical equipment (thermometers, blood pressure monitors)

• Hygiene products: personal hygiene (soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes), protection items (children’s diapers, adult incontinence products, sanitary pads), bedding (sleeping bags, ground mats)

• School supplies and art materials: pens, pencils; drawing materials (paints, brushes, felt-tip pens, drawing paper); other creative materials (modelling clay, scissors, glue)

• Lighting: headlamps, batteries, power banks, new candles, generators

Only new items or items in good condition from the list above will be accepted. No perishable goods or clothing should be brought. Thank you in advance for respecting these guidelines, or for contacting us by email if you would like to propose anything outside the items listed above.

Where to drop off donations

  • At Taizé, at “La Morada”, from Tuesday 20 October in the afternoon.

If other villages or associations in the Clunisois area with a suitable space would like to join the initiative and provide a place to receive and store donations over the coming weeks, please contact us by email.
