Chicago, Pilgrimage of Trust, May 25-28, 2012.

Friday, May 25th 2012

Participants are requested to arrive between 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm at DePaul University (Lincoln Park). An exact location will be specified later.

Registration will continue between 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm, but if you arrive after 5:00 pm you will receive accommodation only after the evening prayer.

Please note : Supper is not provided on Friday evening.

6:00 to 7:00 pm Song rehearsal for those who have already arrived at DePaul University, Sullivan Athletic Center, 2323 N. Sheffield Ave.

8:00 pm Evening prayer at the Sullivan Athletic Center
No registration is needed to participate in evening prayer. All are welcome.

Saturday, May 26th

Breakfast with host families.
9:00am Morning Prayer at Sullivan Athletic Center
10:00 Reflection on a Bible theme with a Taizé brother
10:45 Small-group sharing
12:30 pm Midday prayer at Sullivan Athletic Center
1:00 pm Lunch
2:00 Song rehearsal for those who wish or free time until 3.00 pm.
3:00-5:00 pm Workshops:
1. Praying with the songs from Taizé. How can prayer at Taizé in France help local churches develop a meditative prayer style? Saturday 3.00 to 5.00 pm and Sunday from 2.30 pm. to 3.45 pm.
2. The life and vision of Brother Roger, the founder of Taizé. Led by a Taizé brother.
3. How can I know my call ? Workshop led by a Taize brother in English and Spanish.
4. How to keep a place for silence in a busy life: making choices, setting priorities, keeping focus.
5. The Inventiveness of Love. How young adults can make a difference. The DePaul experience with service.
6. Night Ministry in Chicago: Building relationships with vulnerable youth and adults on the nightime streets. Empowering them to meet their own needs.
7.We are wounded and we sing. Members of the “Harmony, Hope and Healing Choir” share their story and perform.
8. Expressing meaning through art in public spaces. A walk in downtown Chicago with School of Art Institute Professor (repeat on Sunday at 1.45 pm to 3.30 pm). Only for those who preregistered.
9. Working Together for Change: the story of "Common Ground", a grassroots organization in SE Wisconsin.
10. A Different kind of Peace – An experience with refugees in Chicago.
11. Why living with faith is a call to think and to be creative.
Introduction by a Taizé brother and sharing.
12. The Gospel without words. Mime workshop.

8:00 Evening Prayer at Sullivan Athletic Center

Sunday, May 27th

Participants take part in worship with churches in Chicago area. Information about services in various denominations will be provided by host congregations.
Lunch: Potluck in host parishes and congregations.
From 1:00 to 4:00 Free time or song rehearsal or workshop on Taizé.
2:30 pm Song rehearsal at DePaul University or Workshop on Taizé
4:00 Reflection on a Bible theme with a Taizé brother followed by small group sharing.
6:00 Dinner
8:00 Evening prayer at Sullivan Athletic Center

Monday, May 28th

9:00 Morning prayer at at Sullivan Athletic Center. Bring your luggage with you to DePaul.
10:00 Regional meetings: Continuing the Pilgrimage of Trust at home.
11:30 Closing prayer at Sullivan Athletic Center
A box lunch will be given out at the end of the prayer for your journey or to eat before you go.
