Jesus took Peter, John and James with him and went up onto a mountain to pray. And as he was praying the appearance of his face changed. Then a cloud enveloped them and they were afraid as they entered the cloud. A voice came from the cloud, saying, “This is my Son, whom I have chosen; listen to him.”

I shall stay awake, watching to see what God will say to me. And the Lord answered me saying, “The just will live by their faithfulness.”

The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.

When everything seemed hopeless Abraham believed, and so he was made the father of a multitude of peoples.

The apostle Paul says: Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead. On his account I have suffered, even to the point of being put in chains like a criminal.

. Turn to me, says the Lord, and you will be saved, all you ends of the earth. For I am God, and there is no other.

The Lord says: I have seen the misery of my people. I have heard them crying out because of their oppressors, yes, I know their suffering and I have come down to rescue them.
