“A Day Like in Taizé”
Meeting in Baden, 24–25 May 2026
On the feast of Pentecost, 24–25 May 2026, two brothers from the Taizé Community took part in a meeting in Baden entitled “A Day Like in Taizé.” Around 300 people participated in the gathering, and about 600 people joined the Sunday evening prayer. Most came from different parts of Switzerland, while others travelled from abroad, including Germany, England, and Finland.
“A Day Like in Taizé” was part of DisputNation, through which the town of Baden is marking the 500th anniversary of the Baden Disputation of 1526. With around 60 events taking place between September 2025 and the end of May 2026, the anniversary programme uses this historic moment as an opportunity to strengthen social dialogue and bring together people from a wide variety of backgrounds. The entire project is jointly supported by the Protestant Reformed and Catholic Churches.
The organising team prepared the meeting with great care, warmly welcoming participants and creating space for encounters and dialogue. The presence of a group of Ukrainian refugees was particularly moving, especially their testimony about living hope in today’s world.
