“A Day Like in Taizé”

Meeting in Baden, 24–25 May 2026

On the feast of Pentecost, 24–25 May 2026, two brothers from the Taizé Community took part in a meeting in Baden entitled “A Day Like in Taizé.” Around 300 people participated in the gathering, and about 600 people joined the Sunday evening prayer. Most came from different parts of Switzerland, while others travelled from abroad, including Germany, England, and Finland. “A Day Like in Taizé” was part of DisputNation, through which the town of Baden is marking the 500th anniversary of the Baden Disputation of 1526. With around 60 events taking place between September 2025 and the end of May 2026, the anniversary programme uses this historic moment as an opportunity to strengthen social dialogue and bring together people from a wide variety of backgrounds. The entire project is jointly supported by the Protestant Reformed and Catholic Churches.

Taizé in Hong Kong: Listening, Peace and Thirsting for Silence

To celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Catholic Diocese of Hong Kong, the 2026 Taizé Asian Youth Gathering was held from April 30 to May 3 at St. Benedict Parish, Sha Tin. Over 330 young Christians from mainland China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia, and Europe gathered for a four-day spiritual journey under the theme “Messengers of Hope.” Cardinal Stephen Chow Sau-yan, Bishop of Hong Kong, welcomed the youth, stating, “Even though we come from different cultures and different churches, we are praying together. We are all in the same boat, moving forward together; you are all grace-filled and mission-oriented disciples of Jesus.”
