Taizé-Łódź is the next stage of the pilgrimage of trust on earth animated by the Taizé Community. At the invitation of local churches of various denominations, thousands of young people from across Europe, aged 18 to 35, will come together to take part in this European meeting, a time of prayer and sharing in a spirit of celebration and fellowship. We hope you will take part; you will be welcomed with joy!

At the beginning of September, the international team that will prepare the European meeting will arrive in Łódź, marking the start of four months of visits, meetings and prayers across the city and in the surrounding region.

The preparation center will be located at 87 Piotrkowska street, Łódź; it will be open from Wednesday to Saturday from 09:30 to 12:30 and 14:00 to 17:00. Times of prayer when all are welcome will be held from Tuesday to Saturday at 09:00 and at 13:30. You can also find information on the www.taizelodz.pl website and on the social networks @taize.lodz. A unifying event for young people from across Europe

 

The meeting is open to young adults aged 18 to 35. Group leaders may be older. As many participants as possible will be hosted by local families. This search for accommodations will be organized by Christian communities in Łódź.

Dates and schedule

• Arrival: Monday, December 28, 2026.  Please plan to arrive in Łódź between 12:00 and 15:00. Exact arrival locations by country will be announced in early December. 
• Departure: Friday afternoon, January 1, 2027. To allow everyone to participate in the farewell lunch and say goodbye to the local communities, we invite you to plan your departure after 16:00.

 

Arrival on December 26 (volunteers)

To help prepare the welcome, we need volunteers who arrive two days earlier, on December 26. Participation fees are the same as for the other participants.

Accommodation

Participants will be hosted by local families. Accommodation will be simple, in the spirit of pilgrimage. If the number of participants exceeds the capacity of the families, collective accommodation may be provided in halls or schools.

Please bring a sleeping bag and a small floor mat.

If you already have accommodation, it is essential to indicate this on the registration form and to go to the designated welcome location when you arrive to receive your program and tickets.

Meal distribution

On 29, 30, and 31 December, lunch and a packed meal for the evening will be distributed between 11:30 and 12:30.

 

Please remember to bring

• a Bible 
• a bag for the items you will receive
• a water bottle, which can be filled on site (no glass bottle)
• a spoon
• a mug, in case hot drinks are distributed

 

Contribution to costs

All participants are invited to contribute to the costs of the meeting. This contribution, which varies by country, allows for fair solidarity and helps cover the expenses of the event, including meals, rental of certain venues, and preparation costs. The participation in the costs will be approximately 80€; the final amount for each country will be published later.
