Risen Christ, praise be to you for your presence among us. You unite us in the mystery of communion which is your Body, the Church. And when we meet sorrow and weeping, enable us to rely on the faith of all believers, nearby and far away. You draw us out of our loneliness and you renew our hope.

Eternal God, when we find ourselves at a crossroads, show us the way that leads towards life, the way of a greater love. Your Son, Jesus, says to us, "I have come that they may have life, life in fulness." With all our being, we would like to welcome this life and to rejoice in the beauty of what you give us.

Jesus, gentle and humble of heart, you do not force yourself on anyone. But when you ask us as you asked your friends, "For you, who am I?" we would like to answer with Peter: "You are the one who loves me, the one who shows me by everything that you are who God is; yes, you are the Christ, the Son of the living God." With all God’s people, we give you thanks for all the women and men who, since the time of Peter and Paul, have borne witness to your love. May your praise never cease to be on our lips!
