The Wisdom of God says: The Lord created me at the beginning of his work, the first of his acts of long ago. I was beside him, like a master worker; and I was daily his delight, rejoicing before him always, at play everywhere on his earth and delighting in human beings.

You are our hope, O God. You are among us and we are called by your name.

My soul longs for your salvation, Lord. I hope in your word.

At the sight of the crowds Jesus was moved to compassion, because they were like sheep without a shepherd.

As Jesus was eating with his disciples, he took a loaf of bread, and after blessing it he broke it, gave it to them, and said, “Take it; this is my body.”

Being in every way like a human being, Christ Jesus was humbler yet, and became obedient to death, death on a cross. Therefore God raised him high and gave him the name which is above all other names.

There is no difference between persons: all have the same Lord, who generously blesses all who call on him.

Taking five loaves and two fish and looking up to heaven, Jesus said the blessing over them; then he broke them and handed them to his disciples to distribute among the people. They all ate as much as they wanted.
